Anti-Static Flooring
When a floor area is subject to electrical charges, it can have disastrous consequences in static sensitive environments such as those in the chemical industry, electronics and pharmaceutical or health facilities.
Under normal circumstances static electricity is at most, slightly unpleasant but not particularly dangerous. However in the industrial environment these electrostatic build ups can cause sparks and subsequently can cause dust explosions, igniting of flammable gases or disrupt sensitive electronic equipment.
Anti-static flooring safeguards sensitive electronic equipment and personnel from an electrostatic discharge (ESD). Anti-static flooring generally contains a conductive material that accumulates static electricity in order to drain or dissipate potential static discharge and must be earthed.
Anti-static flooring comprises of a unique blend of conductive fillers blended with selected epoxy resin components and pigments to provide an attractive and decorative finish. Static grades of resin flooring are available in coatings, self smoothing and trowel applied screeds. The finish is seamless and is resistant to impact abrasion and chemicals.
